Nia’s one-month update!

This was a series I started when I had my son in 2019 and I can’t believe it’s time to start all over again with my baby girl! Before I get into her update, I just want to say that Micah is the perfect big brother and we couldn’t be more in love with how he stepped into the role. I was a bit worried with how that was going to go, but he transitioned flawlessly, to mama’s surprise! Mostly because he does not play about his dad lol so I didn’t think he’d like the fact that he needed to share him. Needless to say, my two babies are getting along great.

That brings me to my favorite part of having another kid — their dynamic. Yes, Nia is just one month old but she already loves her brother. Sometimes, he’s the only one who can calm her down and he does it by singing to her and holding her hand. She just stares at him and slowly stops crying.

Month one has been an adventure, to say the least! She was born incredibly alert, holding her head up as if she’s been here for a while, and trying to roll over after days of being born. By the way, she rolled over at 4 weeks old and mama was ready to cry. I thought that somehow it was just a cute accident but she did it again immediately after… so that’s what I’m dealing with.

Her strength is just incredible, but scary at the same time because she’s growing too fast! If you hold her up, she’ll nearly hold herself with her strong little legs. If her hands are near her bottle, she’ll grip it and hold it herself. Bottom line is, she needs to slow down!

AT ONE MONTH, nia:

Weighs: 9lbs 3 oz

”Stands at”: 22in

Wears: NB clothing + size 1 diaper

Loves: being held at all times, which was the same with her brother at this stage. He let up as he got bigger, so I’m praying the same happens with her. She always calms down when her brother is around and sings to her and this helps so much when she’s crying uncontrollably over the slightest inconvenience lol.

Hates: sleeping without feeling one of us next to her, which can be pretty tough but the snuggles are amazing! I don’t think she’s fond of tummy time, even though dada always tries to get her on her tummy for a workout, as he calls it. Oh, and she absolutely despises waiting on her food… it’s her food and she needs it now.
