January Backgrounds!
Y’all… we survived 2021. Let’s say a quick prayer for a smoother 2022, cause these last 12 months were rough! My husband and I are doing the Daniel Fast again and we start on Monday. We did it for the first time this last January and I truly believe our year’s “ups” had a lot to do with those 21 days we spent fasting and praying.
I suffer from thinking I never do enough, sometimes I’m not enough, and comparing my journey to others. This is hard to admit, but it’s the truth. This past year was the first time that I consistently felt gratitude for the path I’m taking and where God has placed me and compared my path to others a lot less than before. Although I do think a few goals would’ve been reached quicker had I been more disciplined in certain areas, I still HAD to learn that I am exactly where I’m meant to be.
This brings me to this month’s affirmation. Last year, I made it a point to intentionally ask God to help me want what He wants for me, truly believe that His will is best (and trust me, it is), and to appreciate my “now”. He did that for me! I’m still a work in progress, like everyone else, but my perspective has changed drastically.
2021 was the one of the most exciting and simultaneously the most sorrowful year of my entire life. Somehow, I came out of it so full and I can say God is still the same God that He has always been and He showed out in my life. You are where you’re meant to be, and don’t let anyone or anything deter you from that path.
